Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly - Aglais urticae

Back home and lovely sunshine. You've got to believe this but there was a butterfly swimming in my toilet this morning!  I quickly rescued it and put him on a windowsill to dry  -  thank goodness the sun was really hot and he soon recovered and fluttered about. I managed to take a few shots when he stilled for a few moments now and again. The windowsill is a rather old one and so I have cheered him up with a nice frame here. When I freed him he flew off into my neighbour's garden  -  why not into mine?  It is the first one I've seen this year  -  never expected him to land where he did though!  Have a nice week, Everyone.
