The last piece

Have too many photos of turquoise water and mountains. Had a beautiful day walking around the lake and through the woods . It was grey and cloudy in the morning, and we had both rain and snow showers but they didn't last long and the sun came out in the afternoon. The lake was probably around 70% ice when we arrived yesterday but by 5pm today it had all gone. Each year the last piece of ice is taken from the lake by the youngest member of the hotel staff to much applause. Apparently it's very lucky to be here on the day of the ice melt, so we are both looking forward to a good year!
