History...

... is kept in the old things and it's a shame they can't speak... We inherited this Catholic painting from my husband's grandma (also the piece of furniture)... the painting at least can 'speak' from wartime somehow as the holes (you might see) in it are bullet holes. It's now hanging on our hallway wall and it often makes me wonder that the people around it had seen, feared and loved.... Some of the old books there are rare ones. My grandparents found them hidden in this house when they bought it in their youth.
