Playing life by ear.

Confetti

Today I behaved badly.

It was my grand daughter's 1st comunion which means just about  nothing to me. She looked gorgeous in her white robes and later in a cream lace dress.
One of the very first thing I noticed when I first visited Italy over 50 years ago, was how wonderful the packages/presentations are, especially when compared to the contents... of virtually anything from chocolates to as far as you want to go.

Me, I'm a contents person so this thing about image and presentation washes over me and causes me a little anxt when I'm forced to take part in ceremonies that require all the formalities and showing off.

After the church service, where I sat itn the back row and saw nothing beyond the two fat ladies seated on either side of me  in the pew, at he the reception, held at a pretty restuarant in a lushous park, beside a lake, I began to feel nauseous.
The trouble was my skirt which was much too tight at the waisst in spite of me having moved the button as far as possible.
With the requisite permission, I changed out of my posh gear and into a sports suit and running shoes.
So there I was, among all the acquired relatives,  and relatives of non relatives, some normal and some seemingly fresh out of some carnival, for all the colour and make up and  I, tryng  not to feel guilty and out of place.
The kids had a wonderful time, playing like normal kids until the Titch decided to make a special potion from left over drinks, weeds and a mysterious bio ingredient which I will leave to your imagination.

How lovely to be back at home with my dogs.
