Orders

"Okay guys, we're about to go in the water for the first time. What you need to remember is that you float. It will feel odd, but go with it, all will be fine, just follow my lead. Let's do this!"

Pretty sure this was the first time the cygnets ventured into the water, coaxed by the adults, with some lesser black-backed and herring gulls in attendance. Annoyingly another of the posters I'd put up (in my Friends of the park committee role) about not feeding bread to the ducks and so on had been torn down. And around the swan nest there were bits of newly tossed bread, together with the empty bread bag floating in the water nearby.

Afternoon spent walking round Hopes Reservoir in the blazing sun, though sadly no cuckoos have yet arrived (despite being on Skye and Lewis!). Ah, last day of the holiday. So beer is being enjoyed.
