Ken Dodd

Ken Dodd is 88 years old. Last night he entertained us for three and a half hours with jokes and songs, old and new. Yes, at times he seems to lose his lines but he smiles, collects his thoughts and carries on. His timing is amazing.

It is a mark of huge respect that the great actor, Sir Ian McEllan was in the audience. He should have been at the BAFTAs as he had been nominated as Best Supporting Actor. But this was more important to him.

The show started at 7.45pm and the curtain fell at 12.05am!

Jack and I love live comedy and seen lots of our comedians on stage. But Ken is special. I reckon we have seen him at least 10 times in the last 25 years. A good evening!
