Hill Top Ramblings

Where in the world?

It seems extraordinary that we can switch from bitter winds and freezing nights to apple blossom and 27C overnight, but this year it has happened.
I went for a stroll on Whitbarrow to do my butterfly count and even Pepper was panting along rather slowly. Early purple orchids are in flower, and seas of bluebells. Rather few butterflies, but I think it was too hot for them! They go to roost in the shade if it all gets too much.
Sadly, at home we have the spring time east wind which we call 'The Hagg' as it is so wicked and destructive to young plants, and makes it impossible to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Maybe tomorrow!
