polling day at last.... gillian extremely relaxed, me pacing around making nervous chutney, dad anchored at the meldrum polling station from 6.55am onwards, mum frantic but managing to keep a lid on it, beefy and john working, aunt rosemary relaxed and ewan driving mum's car around with alex salmond's voice blaring out to vote for gillian...so funny.

then on top of all that beth had her first exam (english) which went well and totally overshadowed her first ever vote.

then into the aecc for 9.30 to be a counting agent. so nervous, but as soon as we started sampling I knew she'd won - it was very clear and we were all so relieved and excited. it was so lovely to see duncan and george who had absolutely worked their asses off finally relax and smile as they saw their hard work pay off....
