Wish

I wish everyone could have an Aunt like my Aunt Marie.
I received the news today that she passed away this weekend, just 1 month shy of her 92nd birthday.
Waves of memories washed over me at the news.
The common thread of all was Aunt Marie laughing.
She sang songs without knowing the words and not caring.
She taught me that "you pay for what you eat - not what they serve you, so don't eat it just because it's there" (my Dad nearly had heart failure when he heard that bit of wisdom).
Aunt Marie was always stylish and graceful- she encouraged the same in me. She failed but she still encouraged me.
My life was better because she was in my life.
So, I wish everyone had an Aunt Marie.
I wish I still had mine.
