Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness
Our trail hugged the Salmon River descending the slopes of Mt. Hood from its source at the base of the Palmer Glacier. We hiked beneath towering Douglas Fir and cedar trees. Vine Maple leaves shimmered in morning light and a gentle breeze. Alongside the trail we enjoyed spring wildflowers: Larkspur, Chocolate Lily, False Solomon's Seal, Columbine, Star Flower and Indian Paintbrush.
