Beach Code wip

Been having fun with this for a couple of days. Pastels over watercolour. From a photo I took of one of the old wooden posts on my beach that used to support the railway that carried balllast for the building of the pier in the early 1900s.
I love how the colonies of barnacles seem to plant themselves in ordered rows along the grains of the wood.
It's an A1 piece (75 x 55cms)
