St Andrew's Tower.

This was originally the tower of St Andrew's Parish Church in Peebles, which was consecrated by Bishop Jocelin of Glasgow in 1195.  In the 16th century the Church was pulled down by Henry VIII's soldiers during the Rough Wooing of Mary Queen of Scots.   In the 19th century the tower was restored by William Chambers - the world famous publisher.

Today it provides an attractive centre point for Peebles Cemetery
