Kettle

Perhaps I should be embarrassed?  First, this is one of only two photos I took today and neither one of them is very good.  (see extra for proof)...

Second, perhaps I should be embarrassed that this little set up brings me so much pleasure.  I bought a new kettle designed for precision pouring when making coffee.  It's amazing what a difference this makes.  The whole routine has taken on a meditative quality for me that is hard to explain. I do love the feeling of being intimately connected to this process - and for me that means roasting the beans, hand grinding them, and finally brewing the perfect cup.
