Onset of Winter

Today was the first day that the local climate got serious about winter. Summer (with very few hints of the cool days ahead) had lingered annoyingly. Yep. I admit it. I actually prefer winter .. and today it arrived. The beautiful ugliness of these power lines sort of seemed to fit the occasion.

As I shot this image, one elbow was hooked about a fence post while the strong chilly winds buffeted me most cruelly ... infiltrating clear to the bone. Fair dinkum. Imagine a nasty howl through the nearby wires, trees, power lines and my hair. Think I'll go home and crank up the gas fire. Goodee!
