Downfall

Came down this morning to find that our lilac tree had collapsed during the night - I think the weight of all the rain on the branches and blossom must have finished it off.
Sad to see it go - but serendipitously, today is the day we had booked our lovely gardening people to come and remove the other part of this tree that had already died, as well as take some height off the conifers at the bottom of the garden. So they were able to tidy it all up and take the debris away. And something new and different will emerge from all this - any change involves loss as well as gain.
