A Morning in Manchester

After leaving the very disappointing SACO Manchester we headed over to the Museum of Science and Industry. Then for lunch in (or rather outside) what looked like an oast house sat amongst tall modern buildings. We then visited the gothic John Rylands Library which was very impressive.

Then we headed off in the car towards the Peak District. We discovered that entering from the Manchester side on a Friday afternoon had to be the worst way of getting there. Lots of queuing traffic. It took ages. So it was great when we finally got to open road and drove up into the Peak District along Snake Road. A great drive.

Our destination was Losehill House Country Hotel. What a joy to have a big cosy room after SACO Manchester. We went for a swim, sauna and hot tub before getting ready for dinner in the award winning restaurant. Not forgetting drinks in the cosy bar beforehand.
