Birthday celebrations

Today has been my 81st. Birthday. It has been hugely enjoyable. It began with an annual ritual. After I had miracle brain surgery nine years ago which enabled me to walk again I have climbed Arnside Knott every year before breakfast on my birthday. This morning conditions were perfect. Blue skies and a little breeze. The photo shows the classic view with a friend to help me celebrate. When I can no longer do it I shall know I am getting old but today it felt just as easy as a year ago.

Home for breakfast cards and calls from old friends then out with Mrs. K. and the friends who are staying with us to climb the Knott for a second time and explore its many lovely views.

I think we had earned a good birthday lunch at a nearby hostelry.
