The National Gallery of Denmark
A train ride back to the city where we headed for The National Gallery of Denmark. After food and drink (again very good) we came across this caravan as an exhibit. For many years it provided a place for the homeless to meet and chat a project partly organised by artist Kenneth A. Balfelt but in 2013 the site was cleared and the caravan was acquired by the museum.
I found the following information
The aim of the artists was to create a physical setting that would encourage resident socialisation and a sense of community. The most striking installation was a large caravan covered in what appeared to be large, gray fish scales. The caravan was to serve as a meeting space. By holding meetings somewhere as informal as a caravan, rather than the social worker's office, the aim was to encourage friendly conversation rather than the conventional meeting between the system and the homeless person. Today, the caravan is exhibited at the National Gallery of Denmark.
Later a wander around the Botanic garden and then back through some of the old town. On the way we passed a book shop and asked if they had a camping book we hoped to acquire before leaving home. No they didn't but try the shop up on the right where yes they did, it had arrived that morning. We bought it and hope some understanding can made from the symbols and gps numbers. We arrived back to the site exhausted, today was the hottest yet, fortunately the nights are cool.
