Cuckoo Flowers
The Cuckoo Flowers, a.k.a. Lady's Smock are now in flower on our lawn rough bit of grass.
The Bard mentioned them in his Love’s Labour’s Lost:
“When daisies pied and violets blue
And lady-smocks all silver-white,
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue,
Do paint the meadows with delight…”
(Act V, Scene II)
