Cards on the table

Laid my cards out on the table today and was met by a poker face! Thankfully I managed to play a winning hand.
A moment that was a massive milestone on my journey this year. I owe a debt of gratitude to many people but to one person in particular who has had faith in me when I've been bereft of it myself.
It takes a true leader to inspire us to be brave and do things we are afraid of, to go where we don't want to but ought to be.
I've been lucky.

Birthday finally celebrated a bit with some drinks and a great card game.
