Venice

I'm in Venice for four days with mum for her birthday weekend and although we've only been here for a few hours, I love it!

Mum has been a few times before with dad when he was alive, and he always wanted us to go together, so he'd be happy :-)

We had a good flight, which was on time and got a water taxi from the airport into Venice. That was great fun - there were 12 us, all with suitcases, squashed into a tiny boat that went really fast! The water was really choppy so we bobbed about a bit!

There was a mix of nationalities on the boat: British, American, Spanish and French - in fact I've heard a lot of French people tonight. I was sat opposite the French (from Bordeaux) so had a good chat to them in French.

The hotel is perfect, right on the Tolentini canal and only minutes walk from the Grand Canal where we enjoyed dinner sat watching the boats. We actually found a reasonably priced restaurant and the food was great.

Anyway, we're both tired so it's time for bed.

Apologies for the lack of comments lately, I'll try and catch up soon! X
