Trillium
The trillium is an endangered woodland flower and I am lucky to have one in my backyard. It is the official flower of the province of Ontario, where we lived for many years. The plant is native to North America and Asia. In many parts of North America, including Ontario, it is illegal to pick any parts of the plant as it may die, even if the rhizome is not disturbed. Unfortunately, it appears that another plant has grown in among the trillium this spring, so somehow I will have to remove it without bothering the trillium.
It was another pond day... Woke up in the morning, looked out the window, and decided the pond wasn't good enough for the fish so the job needed to be redone. It was "easier" the second time around, but my helpers weren't available so it ended up taking the full day and evening. The results are much better, but the water needs to fill before we can turn the pumps on.
