Yorkshire Flag
As a treat, after one of those necessary but not very pleasant hospital appointments this morning, we went for a coffee at the cafe at the top of Bingley's 5 rise locks on the Leeds - Liverpool canal.
We watched ducks being fed, one mother with five almost adult ducklings, and boats coming through the locks. Here. Last time we were here was in January when we were seeing the locks empty after their refurbishment. Empty locks on show
The lock keeper can be seen here (extreme right) just about to open the final lock of the ascent - the cafe is in the background next to a cottage flying a Yorkshire flag. So nice to see after the hundreds of Union flags; flags of St George and most recently the red Manx flags in the Isle of Man as well as last months flag of St Piran in Cornwall.
A bit early for Yorkshire Day on August 1st but nice to see.
