Ribblehead Viaduct

Greatest monument to the railway building age. Has to be seen up close to appreciate the human effort put into building it with very little mechanical aid.

For the 1st time for a long time Mrs Wild and me plus no 2 son tripped out on the Dales Rail train from Lancashire along the Settle and Carlisle railway. Cheap fares meant we only paid £24 for 3 up to Denthead Stn. Lovely walk down Dent Dale on the Dales Way thru the wildflower hay meadows then on the Craven Way drove road over the flank of Whernside to Ribblehead. Glimpse of the summer sun as well. Are things looking up?
