Well I never.....!

One of those days when on turning a corner you come across something totally unexpected!  
This was a funeral service displaying their "wares", and creating a lot of interest with this lavishly decorated hearse!  Based on a 1991 Toyota Crown Saloon imported by a collector in 2008 it has been modified to resemble a Japanese Buddhist Temple! The top is wood painted in gold leaf with a copper roof, and the inside is incredibly ornate.  Unfortunately, due to the crowd I couldn't get the whole thing in the frame.  
We overheard an elderly lady comment that she wouldn't mind travelling to her funeral in a vehicle as beautifully decorated as that - the funeral director's comment - "Not being funny madam, but you actually wouldn't care as you wouldn't know anything about it"!!
