I went on a field trip to the botanic gardens in Edinburgh today as part of my plant-environment interactions module. It was a beautiful day and we managed to have a picnic on the grass after the tour. 

The best part was definitely being able to see one of the pressed plant specimens that Darwin brought back on the voyage of the Beagle!! It is so incredible that he actually collected it and brought it back, and that it is still used today for identification. 

The gardens also had many beautiful flowers :)
