Wait that's not a bluebird!

I was so excited to see a flash of blue in the tree when I got home that I didn't notice  that they were not bluebirds till I looked at the photos. They're indigo  buntings!. They've stopped by 3 days in a row now, though the temps are dropping again after today's rain , so the bugs may not be as plentiful.I am hoping they will return  , though I suspect they are passing through as the places I usually see these are fields and roadsides by fields. Beautiful birds though  and the plumage is fascinating ( on all blue birds) as it is really  due to feather structure and than pigment  that causes the blue color.
