Goodbye . . .
Board in Rotorua
Change in Wellington hope for
Calm land in Nelson.
The forester is catching a flight to Nelson. The company he works for has just sold the forests they managed there but are still responsible for a little while longer. Other members of the company from up here have been helping out and now it is his turn. He is wearing his chainsaw boots because they would make his bag too heavy but other than that you wouldn't know he was a forester. The word calm is in the poem because flying in and out of Wellington can sometimes be an adventure when the wind is up. A week on my own, what will I get up to? Oh, go to work of course.
