In a world of infinite contrasts, silk and spikes cohabitate with geometric regularity.  A black-spined barrel cactus in infrared.  I'm still amazed how shooting in infrared both smoothes things, like the cactus's skin, and gives extreme contrast, as with the plant's spines.
