Descending into New Mills

I have my SatNav set so that it doesn't always use A-roads... which sometimes produces some small surprises... as in this case when I travelled from Glossop to New Mills along lanes rarely traveled since the middle ages on which nothing more modern than a bicycle can surely have passed... until now.
