Joel Grainger

Who is Joel Grainger you ask. Truth is I wouldn't have had a clue this morning but he is a busker who was doing his thing in Cambridge and much to my surprise, I rather liked it. He seems to have blended the violin with a more modern style of music and even a bit of beat boxing (making funny noises into a microphone) and looping, recording a short section and then playing it on a loop as he plays along live. I was impressed enough to splash out a tenner on his CD, entitled Wanderer and based on a single listening on the way home, I recommend track 2 if you want to get a taste for yourself or checkout this YouTube video. Very refreshing.
