More archaeologists at work

Our last day and the morning was spent on Berneray with a group of archaeologists from the SCAPE organisation surveying and sampling the remains of a submerged forest. A rich archaeological landscape with a dun where this photograph was taken, a black house to be seen eroding out of the sand and on the skyline a memorial to the birthplace of the Berneray giant.of the early 19th century, Black Angus who came in at seven foot and nine inches.
In the afternoon a drive to South Uist to pick up a second spinning wheel for Tricia before the early evening seeing how to analyse some samples of wood from the aforementioned submerged forest.
Busy times!
