Pond surprise

Our pond (and the wildlife in it) seem to survive despite our neglect year on year.  Last year the pond had no greenery in at all and I feared that the heron would eat the fish, as they had nowhere to hide, so I covered the whole thing with horrible netting.  I eventually acquired some greenery in September which amazingly has really thrived. 

It was a surprise and delight to notice these little flowers peeping above the surface yesterday.  The fish love it too - I can tell by the way they wiggle...

It's been a lovely sunny day.
