Iron Girl Recognizance...

Our weather was so horrible and cold this weekend, and particularly today where it snowed 4-5 x and hailed 3-4 x. We loaded our road bikes and dressed in winter running gear and drove to the site of this summer's Iron Girl to check it out. We had hoped the weather would improve enough for us to actually ride or run, but along the lake it was just too cold and incredibly windy. We walked alot of the swim and running course and drove the 20k cycling course just to get the lay of the land and know what we are up against. It was great to see and looks totally doable. After tea and biscuits at our local Tim Horton's we stopped by our favorite store, MEC (Mountain Equipment Coop) for a gander. I found a summer cycling shirt on sale and my friend LJ tried on waterproof windbreakers that roll up in to the palm of your hand. They did not have the colour in the size she wanted so I will check out the downtown store for her this week. This gorgeous gingerbread cutout-looking house is in the lakeshore area where we will by cycling. There are a number of very colourful homes in this area, making it so very pretty!
