Memorial cairn
After taking Louie for a good walk, MrM and I set out for Alnham. We parked by the church and did a lovely circular walk in the hills. It was only half the length of last week's effort and didn't take us up any high hills, but was a very enjoyable afternoon's walk, mostly in sunshine.
Walk finished, MrM drove us up on to the moors, and we walked a short distance to a memorial cairn, erected for Jock Scott and Willie Middlemas, two shepherds who died there in the blizzards of November 1962, as they were making their way home from Rothbury Mart.
