Guess how far away the camera is from this rose?

I was shooting at Sussex Roses today, and this shot was to get the feel of the vast glasshouses. I was using my Canon 11-24mm which looks like a fisheye but isn't. At the 11mm end I was only 10cm away from the rose. The sun was creating the most incredibly pool of light on the flower (if you look carefully you can see the shadow cast by the lens on the bottom leaves). 

In the extras - does anyone know what baby bird this is? It was nesting on the ground under the roses. Not sure if it had been abandoned.
