Slow worm
This poor little guy had certainly been in the wars. Chunk from his tail and a couple of puncture wounds to his body. Sadly, although still quite active, the bite on his tail was just too far up to be able to fix.
Slow worms are one of my favourite of UK wildlife so very sad to not be able to sort him out.
This time of year we are getting called to several stray 'snakes' each week only to be presented with one of these beautiful legless lizards.
So much I wanted to get done today but very little achieved. There is always tomorrow.
