The end of the line...

I had reason to venture into Edinburgh city centre today and got quite a shock on two counts!
(1) Tram lines have finally been laid in Shandwick Place...there is still a big hole in place of the road, and the tram lines look decidedly rusty, but they are there...
(2) There were several workmen actually working at the side of the road. There they were, not invisible, not having a coffee and a cigarette, not even looking into the hole discussing the hole, but actually working! Astonishing! I think this is the first time I've actually seen anyone working on the tram lines in about 5 years of this ridiculous project... There is hope that one day the city may be restored to its former glory!!
