Silver Y
It caught my eye because it was not one of our usual visitors in our garden. A fast little whirring dervish in the lavender. I was just praying then that I could get the battery back in the camera quick enough before it whizzed away!
I don't know a great deal, if anything at all about day flying moths mainly because I've never liked their fluttering so never got near enough. Had to do a google. Autograph gamma the Silver Y so called because of the white Y on it's forewing. A common (apparently not here but I feel now I've seen one I'll probably see millions) immigrant and can be found around all year except in the winter when it may fly south - lucky thing.
