Operation birdwatch
The first task today was to find a plank to help these little fellas get out of the mill channel. Their mother had jumped in, they all followed, she flew out, they were stuck.
The second operation was to fix the nest box camera at home. A new camera was delivered and my task was to fit it to the lid without disturbing the the nest. This operation took all my cunning skills of making a temporary lid, watching for the blue tit to come out and then with military style speed and precision swap the lids. Fit the new camera and switch the lids again. the first lid swap was under the watchful eye of the BT who was very cautious to re enter the box but all went well and we are now watching the BTC again, the best channel on tv ( bit grainy phone pic, see extra). When all was settled down and wires reconnected we were able to confirm that she has now got 5 tiny chicks and 5 eggs. Fingers crossed .
