The end of a good book

I got completely addicted to a book today - as a result pretty much everything I had planned to do didn't get done. Oops!

I always feel a little deflated when I get to the end of a novel, having invested so much in it and almost becoming part of the world. It's something I never feel with films and what makes reading so much more special.

I'm still very much a fan of proper paper books. These new-fangled Kindle things will never catch on :-)

Can anyone guess what the book was? I've checked and it's not easy to find by googling the final words.
