First Bee of the Season

Every visit to Brookside Gardens is different, as the seasons change.  Today the tulips were gone and the soil is ready for the next crop of color.  Salvias, irises and some roses are in bloom.  The peonies are getting ready to pop.  This is the first bee I've photographed this season, and he didn't disappoint.  I like the view of his mouth parts in this photo.
