Q is for......
Quakers or Religious Society of Friends, formed in England in the 17th cenury.
The friends Meeting House in Manchester was opened in 1828,
The name may have come from when the founder, George Fox, once told a magistrate to tremble (quake) at the name of God and the name 'Quakers' stuck.
Usually the Meeting House has a notice board outside with a quote or thought for the day type of thing displayed. Unfortunatly like a lot of places in the city at the moment there is building/refurbishment work going on so the board is empty.
Other news is that despite cupcakes and ice cream I am now running second in the works Weight Loss Challenge with one week to go. With £100 of M&S Vouchers up for grabs it is time I upped my game!
Q: WHAT DO YOU CALL A MAN WHO ABANDONED HIS STRICT DIET?
A: DESSERTER!
