Across the Minch
Today’s the day .......................... to speed bonnie boat over the sea
Not to Skye though – to the Outer Hebrides.
We drove northwards in convoy through the most fabulous scenery to Ullapool to catch the Caledonian McBraynes Ferry ‘Loch Seaforth’ to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. The weather got better and better as the day went on – and by the time we were crossing the Minch, it was wall to wall sunshine and crystal clear blue skies. The mountains of Assynt on the mainland - with their distinctive outlines – could be seen clearly.
We spent the night with good friends Seonag and Alastair who looked after us royally. Tomorrow we would arrive at our destination for the week ......................
