Arrived.... with hiccups

Arrived safely after a very smooth flight.....a little jet lagged but looking forward to a Blipmeet at the Savoy for afternoon tea no less! 
And then
1.Blipmmet cancelled (or postponed)...industrial action on the railways made transport too uncertain today
2.Decided to take a nap and catch up on some sleep only to be woken by the sound of dripping water. A series of calls and visits by maintenance folk at the hotel found the cause but were unable to fix at that time. 
3.I decided that as I was now awake and it was around 10.50 I would try to see all the pagentry of the Queen's  opening of Parliament..rushed out of hotel and managed to get to Parliament square in record time only to be told that I had missed it all by 8 minutes!!!
4.Later in the evening I thought an evening walk would help the jet-lag. I was halfway across Waterloo Bridge when the heavens opened and I discovered my showerproof mac was not rainproof!
