Awake at silly o'clock again this morning and longing for a quiet evening now.

Reading and loving Marie Darrieussecq's "Being here is a splendour - A life of Paula M. Becker". She tells the story of Paula Modersohn Becker, a turn-of-the-century German painter. The way she writes is just as if it were with a brush: she adds little touches and strokes here and there to "paint" the picture. There's an exhibition of her work in Paris at the moment: we'll go and see it!
