Bon appetit

We had lunch in our favourite restaurant in Brive today, Chez Francis.  I have blipped from there before, but today I couldn't resist the new cover for their menu.  It very shows Francis in the foreground stirring the sauce on the plate, his wife, Dominique, sitting atop the glass of wine, and their son dropping a slice of lemon on to the plate.  It's a real photograph of a plate on a table in the restaurant, with the three cleverly superimposed on it.  I couldn't resist whipping out my iPhone to snap it.

On the way to the toilet I noticed a poster on the door, which is my Extra today.  Chez Francis plays host to all the top French writers and editors each November when the second biggest book fair in France is held in Brive.  I thought this was entirely apposite.

And the meal was wonderful, by the way!
