Tonight

As the lights go out on another day, we hope and pray for a better day.
Times of late have been hard and grey, but tomorrow may bring a better day.
I can hope and pray for a better way, but together we can banish the grey.
Look for the light of the new day, as we say goodbye to a familiar way.
 
Tonight I say goodbye to a couple I was happy to call my friends.
 
Tomorrow we will send them on a journey to a better end.
