Dawning

Dawn rises on a new morrow
A day of change, regrets, sorrow
A life re-arranged, altered, reset
Memories shelved, unwanted as yet
Look to the future, not to the past
A life ahead with possibilities vast
Remove this square from a round hole
Realise you're complete, already whole
No reason at all to have review
Believe who you are is really you
As the sun of the new dawn shines forth
Count up your assets, see what you're worth
Then step forth boldly, go you own way
No matter what words others might say
Believe in yourself, make your life count
No matter you've left behind youth's fount
Age still has a future, you're not dead yet
Already too much to look back on and regret
Grasp life with both hands, give it a shake
Resting on old laurels is a big mistake
You are who you are, you do what you do
For your own sake get out there and just be you!
