Planted

An achieving day in the garden.  A small area planted out with grasses, Ami Major (an Umbillifera) + Calendula (I'd intended to use Echinacea but they are growing too slowly) and this Japanese Maple, that belonged to my dad, planted in another pot.  It's original one broke when it was being moved.  I probably need to re-stake it in the pot to prevent it being blown around too much.
Finally I needed up removing long strands of Jack by the Hedge from Pat's abandoned garden (before it sets seed).  The land actually belongs to us but custom and practice has meant that this small garden has been used and maintained by house No 1 for many years.  We did make clear that if her son, who now owns the property, and has plans to let it out,  didn't maintain it we would take it back ... and so far!  Not only is there a problem of weed seeds being distributed far and wide but also the fact that it makes all of our properties look so untidy and uncared for.  We'll wait and see!
